Sprint announces Sanyo Zio, Samsung Transform and LG Optimus S
It seems that this is an Android week. After yesterday’s announcement from Verizon and Motorola of several new devices, among which was Droid Pro, today is the day of Sprint. They have introduced 3 new devices in their lineup – Sanyo Zio, Samsung Transform and LG Optimus S. Probably you haven’t heard much about these devices, so here is a short description of each of them.
Sanyo Zio runs on Android 2.1, features a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 3.2MP camera and 512MB internal memory. It is also said to be the thinnest Android mobile phone. The device is expected to hit the markets on 10.October with a price of 99.99$ after 100$ mail-in rebate.

Samsung Transform has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, sliding hardware QWERTY keyboard, 3.2MP camera on the back and another one on the front for video calling, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and a 800MHz processor. All that covered with Android 2.1. Samsung Transform will also be available from 10.October but for a price of 149.99$ after 100$ mail-in rebate.
The last of the three – LG Optimus S is the cheapest one – 49.99$ on a 2-year contract, after 100$ mail-in rebate, but unexpectedly the only one running on Android 2.2. The screen is 3.2 inches wide, the handy has a 3.2MP camera and mobile hotspot capability. Unlike the other 2 phones, Optimus S will be available since Halloween, 31.October.
