While Samsung announces their new 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, LG has cooperated with NVidia to bring us the next generation of mobile phones. LG has promised to release the first Tegra 2 powered mobile phones by the end of this year. NVidia’s Tegra 2 is a dual-core CPU platform, each core having a frequency of 1GHz. Until now Tegra 2 was used only in tablets and similar devices.

LG announced that most likely Tegra 2 will be used in Optimus mobile phones series and as we know, Optimus is Android powered. This means a lot better experience – 1080p HD video processing, up to 2x faster web browsing and up to 5x faster and better gaming performance over a single-core 1GHz processor. The new platform will be able to handle better user graphics, similar to the one on other console gaming platforms. Let’s wait and see the new LG’s mobile phones and the response of the rest manufacturers. Who knows, maybe at the beginning of 2011 Samsung’s Galaxy S will be a middle-class mobile phone.
